4. My Denial
This track was a rather dark indictment of the white picket fence scenario, especially in manipulative or abusive circumstances where lies within lies are commonplace. The song was offered to A Name Will Come in 2007 but was turned down in favour of similar tracks that were easier to perform in a live setting.
5. Revelations
Created in 2008, Revelations delves even further into the dark nature of subtle abuse within relationships, exploring more perversely and precisely the denial partners undertake with each other, blaming and shaming during power struggles. The track makes use of Bible style metaphor to illustrate the enduring nature of love throughout such exchanges.
6. Whispers of Cold and Stone
Written for the loss of loved ones, whether through death or some other departure, Whispers of Cold and Stone dealt with the eternity of real love and the endlessness of loss and grief. From the point of view of those who have loved and lost, the remaining desire is to wait forever. One wonders if it isn't a blessing that this isn't possible.
7. The Resurrection
The Resurrection is a story of personal redemption coinciding with a comment on people's actions following tragedy and loss. The Christ comparison was the obvious metaphor, but the depth of the plot lies in broken love, egomania and the social ramifications of both put together. The song questions if we should be putting ourselves on pedestals in times of loss as many people often do, and wonders what social demons come from such attitudes. The song was briefly performed with Flowers For Lily but fell quickly into disuse due to performance lengths and a shift in genre.
